Pro Tips:

  • Renshade can be cut to any shape and will fit unusual shaped windows or skylights.
  • Rolls can be joined with wide transparent tape, with a small overlap to keep it strong. You can line up the dots on the top and bottom then tape it in place, this will hide the join.

    FAQ

Q: How long is each roll?
    A: 5 metres

Q: What is the difference between Renshade 1350, Renshade 1000, Renshade 340?
A: It is exactly the same product - it is just in different widths.  Each roll is the same length.  Only the width is different.

    • Renshade 1350 is 1350mm wide (1.35 metres)
    • Renshade 1000 is 1000mm wide (1 metre)
    • Renshade 340 is 340mm wide (0.34 metres)

Q: Are Velcro dots included with each roll of Renshade?
    A:

Yes. 20 Velcro dots are included with each roll. You can buy more if you wish.

Q: Why are there different widths?
    A:
Originally it was because of the cost of freight.  Anything less than 1.05 metres can be sent via Australia Post flat rate shipping.  That means that Renshade 1000 and Renshade 340 can be shipped right across Australia for a flat rate.

Renshade 1350 is too wide to  fit within Australia Post parameters, so it must be sent via courier.  This can make your Renshade 1350 freight costs higher. If you don't need the extra width, try the Renshade 1000 or Renshade 340 and enjoy Australia Post shipping rates.

Q: What do you use the Renshade 1000 for?
    A:
Renshade 1000mm roll is very popular for shading windows in high rise apartments and anywhere where the north and western sun cannot be shaded from outside.

Q: What do you use Renshade 340 for?
    A:
If you are looking for caravan air conditioning, a couple of rolls of Renshade 340mm are perfect for reducing the heat load on a caravan or RV.   Unlike air conditioning, Renshade 340 does not need electricity so it can effectively reduce the heat in your caravan even when you are off road!  It can be put up in the summertime and removed for winter, when you would want the warmth of the sun.

Q: Can I join Renshade 340 to shade larger window?
    A:
Yes you can join it using regular clear sellotape. Of course you will always see the joins.

Q: Can I get a sample of Renshade to see if it is suitable for my home?
    A:
Yes - the Renshade 340 is a suitable sample size to test its effectiveness in your home on bigger projects.

Q: Can I use Renshade as a privacy screen?
    A:
During the day, Renshade will provide privacy as long as the brightest light is outside.  Unfortunately this means that at night with the light on in a room, it is possible to see through it from outside.

Q: Can I install Renshade outside?
    A:
It depends. If you want to install Renshade under a pergola - then yes, as long as it is protected from high winds and rain. If Renshade is put in a windy or wet environment, it will become very unhappy and not serve you well.

Q: My window is wider than 1350.  Can I order Renshade in a wider roll?
    A:
Unfortunately 1350mm is the widest that Renshade comes in. It is possible to join it together with good quality cellotape - the dots line up so it is easy to do!

Q: Can I make Renshade into a roller blind?
    A:
Yes. Please contact a blind maker who should be able to help you. We do not provide that service.

    Q: Does Renshade burn?
    A:
Yes Renshade will burn when exposed to a direct flame. Do not expose Renshade to a direct flame. This is particular pertinent to under pergolas.
If you have a gas fired outdoor heater, remove Renshade from the area.

Q: Is Renshade suitable for double glazed units?
    A:
If a double glazing manufacturer believes that window films should not be applied to their double glazed units (DGUs) then the same should apply to Renshade. Renshade has been applied to thousands of homes over 30+ years.   There has been no report of damage from Renshade.  However, optimum results would be achieved via roller blinds or fly screen frames and not directly attaching Renshade to DGUs.

If a specialist courier is selected your order will be packed and despatched within 3 business days.

Q: What happens if my order gets lost during transit?
A: On rare occasions we have had orders go missing. ecoMaster has solid procedures in place and photograph every order that leaves our warehouse.  The delivery of our orders at the local post office are videoed and we track the progress of orders.  If a delivery date appears to be beyond expectation, we will raise a query with the freighter on your behalf.  If your order cannot be found during transit, we will send a replacement.

Q: What happens if my order is stolen after delivery?
A: We will check with the freighter to ensure that the order was delivered to the correct address.  If that is confirmed, and your order has been stolen from your home after delivery, please raise a Police Report.  In practice, we have had very little of this behaviour.

    Warranty

Q: What is the product warranty for Renshade?
A: Renshade carries a product warranty of 2 years, but can be highly effective for much longer than that.  We have used Renshade for 15 years in roller blinds in our home.  They are still very effective.

Q: What else do I need to know about Renshade?
A: These simple points will keep your Renshade in good condition for years.

To get the best value for your investment, please, PLEASE watch the installation videos before you proceed.

    • When removing Renshade from your windows / pergola at the end of summer, please do so carefully so you do not tear the fabric
    • Renshade is not fireproof so please keep it away from fires / open heaters.
    • Renshade is not waterproof so please install it inside / under a covered area.

If you have any questions, contact the ecoMaster team.  We are all ex-installers and have done this work thousands of times before.  We are here to help you.

Q: What do I do if I have a problem with this product?
A: Refer to our Returns / Refunds page [Learn More].  Our Research and Development team will be keenly interested to learn of any product failure and will want images and samples of the product (if possible) so they can determine what the cause of failure was.

    Works well

Bought for my son's flat. As a shift worker with an East facing bedroom the the morning sun made his bedroom uncomfortable in the daytime. Only his living room has AC. Renshade reduced the temperature with the added benefit of making the room darker with the blinds down whilst still letting in enough light when the blinds are up. Was easy to fit with Velcro dots from Spotlight. A successful modest cost solution when combined with a ceiling fan, better than sleeping on the sofa with the AC on although that is still necessary on the very hottest Queensland days.

    Hi Peter,

We are glad to hear that our Renshade has made a noticeable difference in your son's flat, providing a cooler and darker environment for him to rest in during the daytime. We appreciate you mentioning the added benefit of still allowing some light in when the blinds are up. We strive to offer cost-effective solutions and are happy to hear that you enjoy our product. Thank you for choosing Renshade!

    nothing helps foil to stick

all rooms i have put foil on, its falling off. Ive tried velcro strips, sellotape, which worked better. Will try double sided tape. Has helped with newer glass in my rental, but not a lot on the older glass unfortunately.

    Hi Wendy,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our Renshade Reflective Foil. We are sorry to hear that you have been experiencing difficulties with the foil sticking to your windows. We understand how frustrating this can be.
As we did not supply you with the velcro dots or sellotape that you are using it may come down to the quality of your chosen products.

We suspect the Renshade is falling off because the glass is hot and melting the glues on the velcro / sellotape.
If it is so hot that the glues are melting, perhaps you may need to experiment with fly screen frames (or make Renshade into roller blinds)

If you need any further assistance, perhaps with speaking to someone about using flyscreen frames or Renshade roller blinds instead please do not hesitate to reach out to our customer service team. Thank you for choosing Renshade Reflective Foil.

    We appreciate your feedback.

    Good stuff!

Reflects the worst of the radiant heat and still provides a lovely diffused light - with the added bonus of privacy. Found it works even better when combined with block out curtains. Each are good on their own, but together reduced our inside temperature even further.

    Hi Beth,

Thank you for sharing such wonderful and practical feedback with us and the community. Having that great combination of Renshade and block out blinds will definitely make days inside so much more comfortable during the summer. Awesome!

    Great for reducing glare

I used Renshade on the west-facing double glass door to my shed, where I work inside at a computer. I found it successful and as advertised in greatly reducing radiant heat and glare. It's no miracle cure for a lack of insulation, but nor does it claim to be. I was surprised to find that the product feels more like thick paper than like metal. I was expecting a more heavy-duty product. On day two after installation, one of my cats shredded it to pieces and I had to replace it. Luckily, I had some spare, and now I place a barrier in front of it at night when the cats are trying to get outside. On cloudy and rainy days it can feel a little oppressive, but on sunny days it is well worthwhile. It's much more relaxing working without the glare, and I like its veiled see-through quality.

    Hi KB,

We are so pleased to hear that you are satisfied with how Renshade is performing for you. The development of Renshade has been a painstaking one and like all products it is a balance of trying to create something that is durable, still light enough to be fit for it's intended purpose and of course cost. We think we've come up with a great result.
Also, glad to hear that you had some spare after your fur baby got to it, cats are such inquisitive creatures.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us and the community. We hope to be able to serve you again in the future!
