FAQ

Q: What R value is needed for ceiling insulation?
A: The performance of insulation is measured in terms of R Value, which stands for ‘Resistance Value’. For new builds check your Energy Rating for the R rating required.  You can always go higher than specified but not lower.  For existing homes, Learn More

Q: How much ceiling insulation do I need?
A: Often we find that, while many homeowners agree that insulation is important and they assume that they have some level of insulation in their ceiling, we rarely meet people who know exactly how much insulation they have overhead.  Learn More

Q: What do I do about halogen downlights in my ceiling?
A: If your home is fitted with halogen down-lights, it is best to replace them prior to installing ceiling insulation so that the best possible ceiling coverage can be achieved.  Aside from the fire risk and draught concerns associated with down-lights, LED downlights that are IC4 (IC standing for Insulation Contact) rated can be insulated over the top.  Refer your electrician to Rule 4.5.2.3 of Australian Standard AS:NZ 3000.

Q: Can you lay insulation on top of old insulation?
A: If you have existing ceiling insulation, rest assured that it can remain in place. You should level out any existing loose-fill insulation, or fill in any gaps in your existing batts, before topping up with our high quality product to ensure the best thermal protection for your home.

Q: Can I return insulation?
A: No, all Polymax insulation is a made to order product and cannot be returned unless it is a warranty claim as described in the warranties terms and conditions.  If you have insulation left over from your project, you will find a very buoyant market for it on social media.

Q: Didn’t find your answer?
A: Call us on 1300 326 627, email us at sales@ecoMaster.com.au or hit the chat button on the lower right hand side of the screen.

Shipping

Q: How will my order be delivered?
A: We will contact you to advise when your order can be manufactured and delivered to your home.

Q: Where can you deliver to?
A: Orders can be delivered to just about anywhere within Australia. However, the freight costs can become relatively high if you are in a regional or remote area. Please contact us with your location for a freight quote.

Consider collaborating with your neighbours to share an order as the freight price is the same whether there are a few bags or the truck is filled to capacity.

Q: Can I collect my order from the Sydney manufacturing plant?
A: Yes, you can.  When your order is ready for collection, you will be advised.

Q:  Can I get a return excess insulation?
A:  No.  All Polymax orders are "made to order" and cannot be returned.  If you can excess insulation, please contact us and we will help you sell it via social media.  There is a buoyant market for polyester insulation.

Warranty

Q: What is the product warranty for Polymax?
A: Polymax carries a product warranty of 70 years, but can be highly effective for much longer than that. We have not yet seen a 'failed' polyester product. It is incredibly robust and is not damaged by the elements that would generally damage other types of insulation.

Q: What is the installation warranty for Polymax?
A: As Polymax is a DIY product there is no warranty on installation.

To get the best value for your investment, please, PLEASE watch the installation videos before you proceed.

Q: How do I register for my 70 year warranty?
A: Great question!   Register your purchase here and remember to retain your tax invoice.  Attach it to your warranty when you download it after registration.  File it with your important documents.  The warranty will be transferable to new owners of your home - so make sure they know about the warranty and provide them with the documentation to support it.

If you have any questions, contact the ecoMaster team.  We are all ex-installers and have done this work thousands of times before.  We are here to help you.

Q: What do I do if I have a problem with this product?
A: Refer to our Returns / Refunds page [Learn More].  Our Research and Development team will be keenly interested to learn of any product failure and will want images and samples of the product (if possible) so they can determine what the cause of failure was.
