Description

Wall insulation is only as good as the fit.

The best wall insulation job is not about stuffing as much material as possible into the cavity. It is about fitting the insulation neatly, snugly and consistently, so there are no avoidable gaps, folds or compressed sections.

Gaps can allow heat and sound to pass through. Over-compressed insulation can reduce performance. That is why a polyester batt is such a practical choice for walls.

Value Poly Wall Insulation is easy to shape around common wall framing, including studs, noggins and awkward corners. It can be torn or trimmed to fit neatly into place, without the itchy mess of traditional insulation.

It is a good option for:

  • external walls where thermal comfort is the priority
  • bedrooms, living rooms and home offices
  • renovations, extensions and new builds where the wall cavity is open

The goal is simple: a neat, snug installation that helps your walls do their job properly.

Video Guides:

You may need to trim the polyester batts. For a quick and easy way to do that, check out this video.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Wall insulation is easiest to install when the wall cavity is already open, such as during a new build, renovation or extension.

Retrofitting wall insulation into an existing home usually requires plasterboard to be removed and refitted. This is a skilled job and is best suited to a builder or highly experienced DIYer.

If you would prefer not to remove plasterboard, blow-in wall insulation may be a better option. Ask us for a referral to a quality installer if you would prefer a done-for-you approach.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Q: Is this wall insulation easy to install?

A: Yes. Polyester wall insulation is soft, flexible and easy to handle, making it a great option for DIY installation or professional use. It can be cut or torn across the grain to fit neatly between wall studs, helping create a snug fit without the itchiness of traditional fibreglass insulation.

Q: Will wall insulation make my home more comfortable?

A:  Yes. Wall insulation helps slow down heat transfer through your walls, so your home can feel warmer in winter and cooler in summer. It can also help reduce draughty, uneven room temperatures and make your home easier to heat and cool.

Q: Why choose polyester wall insulation over fibreglass?

A:  Polyester insulation is comfortable to work with, non-itchy and made using between 45% to 85% recycled plastic bottles. It holds its shape well, is easy to handle, and is a smart choice for anyone wanting effective insulation without the scratchy experience of fibreglass.

Q:  What is the warranty period?

A:  Our wall insulation comes with a 25-year warranty, giving you long-term confidence that it is made to perform and last. Once installed correctly, it is designed to help your home stay more comfortable through winter, summer and every season in between.

Q:  What is the difference between Value Poly and other wall insulation batts?

A:  If the R ratings are the same, the thermal performance will be very similar.  The biggest difference will be the comfort and safety of handling polyester.  A snug, gap-free fit helps the insulation perform at its best.  Value Poly Wall Insulation is a great choice if you want reliable thermal performance, a comfortable home, and a cost-effective polyester insulation option.

Q:  Should I choose 430mmm or 580mm wide batts?

A:  Choose the batt width that best suits your wall stud spacing. The batts should fit snugly between the studs without being compressed or leaving gaps. If you are unsure, measure the distance between your wall studs before ordering.

Q:  I have more questions. Who can I contact?
