DIY ecoGlaze On Sash Fit and Finish | FAQ
Q: I’m not really sure how or where to start?
A: That is no problem at all. To understand ecoGlaze, it would be best to go to www.ecoGlaze.com.au and start reading and watching the videos.
Q: Do I need the Fit and Finish kit to be able to install DIY ecoGlaze On Sash?
A: Yes, Specifically the Acrylic Supports are an essential and required part for a successful ecoGlaze On Sash Installation. Without them there is nothing to hold the acrylic up and it is liable to fall off.
Q: What is DIY ecoGlaze On Sash?
A: There are three different types of ecoGlaze, each designed for a specific type of window. DIY ecoGlaze On Sash is specifically for hinged windows and doors.
Q: How many Fit and Finish Kits do I need for my windows?
A: You need one Fit and Finish kit for each Lite of your window that is using the On Sash moulding. That is every piece of glass that you are buying the On Sash Mouldings for, needs a Fit and Finish Kit.
Q: I plan to purchase the Timber On Sash and paint it white to suit my window. Can I use the White Fit and Finish Kit for timber On Sash Mouldings?
A: No. The White Aluminium On Sash Mouldings and the Raw Timber On Sash Mouldings are slightly different in size. So if you plan to use the timber mouldings, regardless of the colour you are going to paint the mouldings, be sure to select the Brown Fit and Finish Kit. Likewise, purchase the White Kit for White Aluminum On Sash mouldings. The plastic coloured end caps are paintable.
Q: What paint should I use to paint the PLA End Caps?
A: Paints vary in makeup based on their solvent. The most common ones are oils, enamels, lacquers, and acrylics, most of which will work well with PLA. Enamel Paint is ideal for the Aluminium On Sash Moulding due to its higher bond strength. Acrylic paints are better for the Timber On Sash Mouldings usually because they are water based, which makes them dry faster and easier to use/clean up.
