About
About
How it Works:
FulaSeal 701 Ultra Clear is a water-based, highly flexible gap sealant that is white when applied and clear when dry. This virtually invisible sealant is flexible enough to expand and contract with the movement of a building.
Ultraclear is applied to gaps and cracks using a caulking gun and effectively draughts around floorboards, architraves, skirting boards, windows and air vents.
During the caulking process, excess sealant can be easily cleaned up with a damp cloth when wet.
Includes:
- FulaSeal 701 Ultra Clear in 300g tubes.

Care Instructions:
- Once applied, there is no “after care” needed but do make sure it is fully dried (cured) before cleaning the area for the first time.

FAQ
FAQ
Q: What is the difference between Ultra Clear, Ultraclear and Fulaseal 701 Flexible Ultra Clear?
A: There is no difference - it is the same fabulous product.
Q: What surfaces can I seal with Ultraclear?
A: Lots of people use it to seal gaps and cracks in their homes as outlined in videos under the “How to” tab. Ultraclear can also be used to seal polycarbonate roofing. Due to its water resistance it can be used to seal gaps and cracks in bathrooms and kitchens. It can also be used with fibreglass, glass, metal, plasterboard, concrete, cement sheet, ceramic tiles, brick and timber. It can be used with plastics, but test it first!
Q: Do I need to buy a caulking gun?
A: Yes you do. There are lots of choices for caulking guns at your local hardware store. Make sure to invest in a caulking gun that withdraws the plunger when you let go of the trigger. Some cheaper guns maintain pressure on the tube when you let go of the trigger causing the Ultraclear to continue to spill out of the gun. We do have professional caulking guns for rent in Melbourne .. Learn More.
Q: I've never tried caulking gaps myself yet. Do you provide guides on how to go about this?
A: We do have how to Videos to ensure you get a great finish. Just go to the How To tab, and you should see all the instructional videos you'll need for a successful DIY caulking job. And remember, Ultraclear cleans up in water, so if you do make a mess, it is easy to wipe it off (before it dries) and try again.
Q: How do I make a neat finish?
A: Within a few minutes of application, finish the surface with silicone spreaders, wet spatula or other smooth implement. In some cases, such as with air vents, we find that a damp finger gives a good finish but be sure to wear a disposable glove.
Q: Does it shrink once it is installed?
A: Yes, It can shrink a bit if it has been applied in a thick manner. Just let it dry completely and reapply a thin layer over the top of the existing sealant.
Q: Is this difficult to clean up like silicone?
A: No. One of the reasons we love Ultraclear is that it is a water-based sealant so it's very easily cleaned with water. Just wet a piece of cloth with water, and wipe off the excess sealant from the surface. Whilst it is easy to do, it is important that this is done BEFORE the sealant dries. Once Ultraclear dries it is much harder to remove.
Q: What if I applied Ultraclear without first cleaning the area of application?
A: You will be sealing the dust and other foreign particles in too. Cleaning the area to be sealed FIRST is a critical step to ensure maximum adhesion. Ultraclear dries to a transparent finish. It will lose that transparency if you can see dust and grime sealed in with it and it will have a yellow hue.
If you missed cleaning the surface first before application, and the sealant is not yet cured, you can use a damp cloth to remove it. Once the sealant is cured, you will have to use a knife, scraper, or other mechanical means to remove it.
Q: Can I use this on a metal surface?
A: Yes. Although adhesion to metal is a bit different when compared to timber or cement. This can be improved by light sanding prior to sealant application.
Q: How long will it take for the sealant to cure?
A: Full cure is normally achieved in 5-7 days depending on bead size, weather conditions and substrates. Larger sections of sealant will take longer to cure. Fulaseal 701 Flexible Ultra Clear sealant relies on evaporation to cure; therefore applying sealant on non porous substrates will extend curing time. During warmer weather, the sealant will cure much faster. During winter, you may need to heat the area to ensure that Ultraclear cures.
Q: Can I paint over the sealant?
A: Yes, it can be painted with water based paints once tack free (approximately 30 minutes). If you will be using oil based paint, though, please allow 5-7 curing days before painting.
Q: How flexible is it?
A: Offers permanent flexibility with up to 25% joint movement capability.
Q: Will it go mouldy?
A: It is mould resistant, so great for use in bathrooms and kitchens.

Q: What is the product warranty for Fullers Ultraclear?
A: The Fullers Ultraclear has a product warranty of 2 years, but can be effective for much longer than that. We have used Ultraclear since the early 2000s and have had very few issues.
Q: What is the installation warranty for Fullers Ultraclear?
A: As Ultraclear is a DIY product there is no warranty on installation.
However, in order to get the best value from your investment, here are a few tips that will help:
- Thoroughly clean the surface that your Ultraclear sealant is to be adhered to. In situations where Ultraclear has not dried clear, an unclean surface will undoubtedly be the cause. Clean the area, then clean it again and do it again. Stop foot traffic, dogs, cats and grandma from running through the area you are working on.
- If it is cold during application, please ensure that the area is warmed sufficiently to allow for curing of the product.
- Smooth our the sealant surface before it dries - either with a silicone spreader or a damp finger.
- Clean up any excess before it dries.
To get the best value for your investment, please, PLEASE watch the installation videos before you proceed.
If you have any questions, contact the ecoMaster team. We are all ex-installers and have done this work thousands of times before. We are here to help you.
Q: What do I do if I have a problem with this product?
A: Refer to our Returns / Refunds page [Learn More]. Our Research and Development team will be keenly interested to learn of any product failure and will want images and samples the product (if possible), so they can determine what the cause of failure was.
Easy to use and seems to have done a good job sealing skirting boards, aluminium window frames and a range of other gaps in my ‘glorified tent’ aka a 90’s townhouse. Took a long time to fully dry (about a week) with the cold weather we have had in Melbourne and I did get dirt and dust settle in it despite a thorough clean before applying which was a bit disappointing.
Goes on easy, does take a while to cure, cleans up easily too.
Thank you Patrick! We appreciate your feedback!

Hi Dezi,
You've left a smile on the faces of our whole team with your kind words! It's always amazing to hear that we've been successful in our goal of providing our customers with the best possible experience. Thank you and have a great day!
This product is economical, easy to use and useful pretty much anywhere it seems. I have used to seal lots of gaps indoors especially between polished timber flooring and painted walls because it dries clear. I've just used it to cover screws on ground back screws on timber handrails outdoors before painting.
We truly appreciate your continuous support and trust in us Lynne. This type of feedback about how well our products perform, really brightens our day!
Thank you for taking the time to share with us and the community.
