  • Suitable for hinged external and internal doors
  • Highly durable
  • Spare fixings are available here

Benefits:

  • Door bottom seal is suitable for carpets and uneven surfaces, when sweep and brush seals don’t work effectively.
  • Reduces draughts so room temperatures stay comfortable.
  • Assists with zoning out wet areas and rooms that don’t need heating or cooling so often.

How To

The RP1 door draught excluder sits in two slotted hooks fitted to the back of your door. It rolls across the floor as your door opens and closes.  The RP1 moves up and down as the floor level changes. The clever design allows the soft roller to seal gaps so draughts can’t sneak into your room.

What you will need:

  • Pencil
  • Measuring tape
  • Sharp knife
  • Drill fitted with 2.5mm drill bit

Hacks:

  • The roller has one solid end and one soft end. The soft end sits at the hinge side of the door.
  • Trim the soft end to length with a sharp knife blade, turning the roller as you cut to ensure a straight edge.
  • Mark where hooks are screwed into the door then use a 2.5mm drill bit to pre-drill holes. This may not be necessary for softwood doors.

FAQ

Q: What is it?
A: The RP1 Door Draught Excluder is a soft, rolling door seal that is ideal for doors that open over carpet.

Q: What kind of doors is the RP1 suitable for?
A: The RP1 is only suitable for hinged doors. It is best suited to internal hinged doors for the purpose of zoning.

Q: What does it do and how does it work?
A: RP1 Door Draught excluder effectively stops draughts from coming under internal doors by being fitted to the back of the door and is designed to roll across the floor as the door is opened and closed. In effect it is a rolling door snake.

Q: How do I install it and how hard is it to install?
A: There is an instructional video featured under the “How to” tab [Learn More]  Please watch and follow the video that will walk you through how to install the RP1 Door Draught Excluder.  It's easy!

Q: What tools will I need?
A: The minimum tools you need are a pencil and a knife or scissors. The pencil is used to mark where the hooks are to be screwed into the door and the knife or scissors is to simply cut the soft end of the RP1 to length.

It is also helpful to have a drill fitted with a small drill bit (2.5mm) to pre-drill the holes where the hooks are to be screwed in. This makes it easier to screw in the hooks but if you have softwood door then you can get away without pre-drilling.

Q: How do I know it has been installed properly?
A: The RP1 should roll as you operate the door and there should be no more draughts.

Q: Will my door still function as a door?
A: The RP1 should not prevent your door from operating normally. If you can no longer open or close your door after installation, then it may have been installed incorrectly.
