Q: What is a Raven RP35 Automatic Drop Down Excluder?
A: The RP35 is an ingenious, door seal with an in-built mechanism. An internal blade automatically drops and seals when the door is closed, lifting out of the way when the door is opened.

Q: Why choose an automatic drop-down seal instead of a sweep seal?
A: A sweep seal drags across the floor whenever the door opens and closes. The RP35 only drops when the door shuts, then lifts clear when the door opens. That gives you a strong seal without constant scraping.

Q: What gap size does the RP35 suit?
A: The RP35 suits gaps from 3 mm to 13 mm under the door. If the gap is smaller than this, the seal may be unnecessary or difficult to adjust correctly. If the gap is larger, you may need a different approach or a treadplate.

Q: Is the RP35 suitable for wheelchairs, walkers and prams?
A: Yes. Because it seals by dropping down from the door rather than creating a raised threshold, it is a good option where smooth access matters.

Q: Can I cut the RP35 to size?
A: Yes, most RP35 lengths can be cut to suit your door. However, it must not be cut smaller than the next size down, or the mechanism may be damaged. The 600 mm length cannot be cut down.

Q: What happens if my sill is uneven?
A: If the sill is dished or uneven, the seal may not land cleanly. In that case, you may need to install a treadplate first so the RP35 has a flat surface to seal against.

Q: Can the Door Seal - Draught Excluder RP35 be installed on either a left hand or right hand pf an opening door? (i.e. does the mechanism that drops the seal only work on one side?
A: The RP35 is ambidextrous and can be installed on a right hand hinged door or a left hand hinged door.
