Description

Value Poly Underfloor Insulation is designed for suspended timber floors where there is safe access underneath the home. It creates a thermal layer beneath your floorboards, helping reduce heat transfer between your living space and the cold, hot or draughty air under the house.

Because it is made from people-friendly polyester, it is safer to handle than traditional scratchy insulation. It is lightweight, non-itchy and easy to tear, shape and fit between timber floor joists.

For best performance, the insulation should be installed snugly between the joists, with no gaps, loose edges or compressed sections. A careful installation helps prevent sagging and keeps the insulation doing its job properly.

How many packs do I need?
Measure the width of your joists first. Ideally you want to order insulation that is 20mm wider that the distance between the joist timbers.
Then measure your underfloor area and divide by 9 (the number of m2 per pack of insulation). Allow a little extra for trimming, joins and awkward spaces.

Stapler (Battery, Double Insulated) - not a hand stapler
Staples (Galvanised)
Headlamp/flashlight
Gloves (to protect against wood splinters - not the insulation)
Goggles
Tarps (Helps keep insulation clean)

We recommend polyester insulation be stapled to the joists at 100mm -150mm intervals to ensure it is secure and will not sag over time
For the best and long lasting result, make sure the staples being used are galvanised. We recommend T50 Staples with a leg length of 10mm.
You will need about 340 staples per pack of Underfloor Insulation. That's about 47 staples per sq metre.
Use a good quality stapler. Trade Quality Stapler Rental is available if you live in Victoria.
DO NOT USE A HAND STAPLER TO INSTALL INSULATION.

You will be notified of the pickup locations once your order has been placed and availability for collection has been confirmed. Please check the Product Specifications to ensure you have sufficient capacity in your vehicle / trailer.

The freight costs for regional Victoria, WA and Tasmania will reflect the distance travelled. The delivery cost is the same regardless of whether it is one bag or a whole truck. Consider sharing with your neighbours to split the freight cost.

How will my order be delivered?
We will contact you to make a mutually convenient time for your delivery.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to remote locations and difficult access in some parts of Australia, delivery is ONLY quoted to your letterbox.

What if it is raining?

As you have ordered polyester insulation, it won't matter if the insulation or bags get wet. It will just dry out. Unlike other insulation types, you won't have to replace the whole order.

What if I don't live in Victoria, Perth or Tasmania and want this great insulation?

You are very welcome to purchase online AND arrange your own freight. We are seeking to expand our geographic range and will advise when we have new locations available.

Q: Is Polyester Underfloor Insulation easy to install?
A: Installing underfloor insulation may be easy or challenging depending on your home's specific attributes. These include the height of the space beneath the floor, the spacing of the joists and any access issues. We provide installation videos to make it super easy .

Q: What staples do I need and how many will I need?
A: T50 Staples were the staples of choice of the ecoMaster installation crews and are the size used for most good staplers. You will need about 340 staples per pack of Underfloor Insulation. That's around 50 staples per sq metre.

Q: Do I have to replace this insulation if it gets wet?
A: Absolutely not! One of the great benefits of polyester underfloor insulation is that it will not matter if it gets wet. It will just dry out without any impact whatsoever.

Q: What is different about this insulation to other types of under floor insulation?
A: Good question. This is an excellent choice for those individuals who want all the benefits of a great polyester underfloor product but at an affordable price. Polyester insulation is not itchy and contains no toxic chemicals. It is safe, 100% polyester - just like your doona.

Q: What is the difference between ecoMaster's Polyester Insulation and Polymax?
A: They are similar products. They have the same R value and are made from the same base materials.

Polymax Polyester is made from up to 80% recycled plastic bottles and has a nominal loft of 140mm (there are some variations). We recommend that you open the packs as soon as you receive them to allow it to re-loft. The insulation may have been compressed for transport (NOT vacuum packed).

Value Poly is made from between 45% to 80% recycled plastic bottles and has a nominal loft of 120mm (with some variations). It may have a small amount of compression during transport and may be slightly less than full loft when first removed from the bag.
