About

The ecoGlaze Kit is a system specifically designed for you to secondary glaze your existing windows to achieve the same result as most double glazed windows.

Features:

Secondary Glazing System: ecoGlaze is not a replacement for existing windows but a supplementary system that attaches to your current window frames, creating a double-glazing effect.

Customizable Fit: Each ecoGlaze unit is DIY fit to your existing windows, ensuring a perfect fit and optimal performance.  Fits fixed windows up to 2400 mm width and height.

High-Quality Acrylic Panels: Made from durable acrylic, acrylic panels (sourced by you) are lighter than glass and offer excellent clarity.

Magnetic Attachment: The system uses magnets for attachment, making installation straightforward and allowing for easy removal when cleaning.

Versatile Application: ecoGlaze is suitable for a wide range of window types and styles, including heritage windows where changing the original glass is not possible. Suitable for timber and commercial grade aluminium windows.

Benefits:

Improved Thermal Insulation: By creating an air gap between the existing window and the ecoGlaze panel, the system significantly reduces heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer. This insulation improves the comfort of your home and can lead to substantial energy savings. Complies with all Australian window standards.   Rated by WERS (Window Energy Rating Services) as equivalent to many brands of double glazed windows.

Enhanced Acoustic Insulation: ecoGlaze helps to reduce noise penetration through windows, making it ideal for homes in noisy areas such as near busy roads or airports.  Note:  ecoGlaze has not been formally acoustically tested.

Cost-Effective: Compared to replacing existing windows with new double-glazed units, ecoGlaze offers a more affordable solution with comparable performance benefits.  Up to 1/3 of the cost of replacement double glazing.

Ease of Installation: The magnetic mounting system makes ecoGlaze easy to install without the need for specialized tools or significant modifications to existing frames.

Preservation of Aesthetics: For heritage or character homes, ecoGlaze provides an energy efficiency upgrade without altering the external appearance of the windows.  Its a beautiful finish and does not look like an "add-on"

Australian designed and manufactured:  Received awards for innovation and exceptional executional technologies.  It is exclusive to ecoMaster

How To

DIY ecoGlaze requires you to have good attention to detail and the ability to closely follow our step-by-step guide videos to achieve successful insulation.

There are 3 steps to installing ecoGlaze. Each step is detailed in a separate video. It is essential you watch all 3 videos before you begin your order in readiness to DIY install.

DIY On-Sash requires 1 x On Sash Fit and Finish Kit per panel of glass

Step 1. Preparation

  1. Measuring the top and bottom of your Window.
  2. Cutting the top and bottom mouldings to size
  3. Cleaning the Window in Readiness for ecoGlaze

Step 2. Installing the Mouldings

  1. Install the Mini Seal to the Perimeter
  2. Install the Bottom Moulding and Acrylic Supports
  3. Install Top Moulding
  4. Measure the side Mouldings
  5. Cut the Side Mouldings
  6. Install the Left Hand Moulding
  7. Install the Right Hand Moulding
  8. Fit End Caps from the On-Sash Fit and Finish Kit to the Mouldings. We found this step is easiest when completed with steps 6 and 7

Step 3. Installing the Acrylic

  1. Remove Mouldings from window
  2. Double Check the size
  3. Remove liner from the Acrylic
  4. Put Acrylic in place and replace mouldings over the top to secure it in place.

FAQ

Q: I’m not really sure how or where to start?
A: That is no problem at all. To understand ecoGlaze, it would be best to go to www.ecoGlaze.com.au and start reading and watching the videos.

Q: Do I need the Fit and Finish kit to be able to install DIY ecoGlaze On Sash?
A: Yes, Specifically the Acrylic Supports are an essential and required part for a successful ecoGlaze On Sash Installation. Without them there is nothing to hold the acrylic up and it is liable to fall off.

Q: What is DIY ecoGlaze On Sash?
A: There are three different types of ecoGlaze, each designed for a specific type of window. DIY ecoGlaze On Sash is specifically for hinged windows and doors.

Q: How many Fit and Finish Kits do I need for my windows?

A: You need one Fit and Finish kit for each Lite of your window that is using the On Sash moulding. That is every piece of glass that you are buying the On Sash Mouldings for, needs a Fit and Finish Kit.

Q: I plan to purchase the Timber On Sash and paint it white to suit my window. Can I use the White Fit and Finish Kit for timber On Sash Mouldings?
A: No. The White Aluminium On Sash Mouldings and the Raw Timber On Sash Mouldings are slightly different in size. So if you plan to use the timber mouldings, regardless of the colour you are going to paint the mouldings, be sure to select the Brown Fit and Finish Kit. Likewise, purchase the White Kit for White Aluminum On Sash mouldings. The plastic coloured end caps are paintable.

Q: What paint should I use to paint the PLA End Caps?
A: Paints vary in makeup based on their solvent. The most common ones are oils, enamels, lacquers, and acrylics, most of which will work well with PLA. Enamel Paint is ideal for the Aluminium On Sash Moulding due to its higher bond strength. Acrylic paints are better for the Timber On Sash Mouldings usually because they are water based, which makes them dry faster and easier to use/clean up.

Shipping

Q: Can I collect my order?
A: Yes you can!  A “Ready for Pickup” email will be sent to you when you order is ready to be collected.  Please click this link for the Click and Collect details.  Note:  this Collection Centre is in Preston Victoria, NOT Prestons in NSW.

Q: When will my order be despatched?
A: Generally, your order will be despatched within 2 to 3 business days.

Q: Will my order be tracked?
A: Yes!  When your order is consigned, you will receive a tracking number that will show you where your order is and its expected delivery date.  Track your order here

Please note: Orders with two or more items may arrive in separate parcels with no additional shipping charge

Q: When will my order be delivered?
A: All over-sized orders are picked, packed and despatched within 3 business days.  Your order will be delivered by a specialist courier that specifically handles oversized items that cannot be delivered via Australia Post.
Please note that this is a specialist courier NOT an express courier. Our experience with specialist couriers varies depending upon the delivery location.  Clearly delivery times will fluctuate at peak shipping times such as Christmas, end of financial year and the pinnacle of winter bleakness!

Q: Authority to leave?
A: The standard courier delivery option is "Authorised to Leave". That means that if there is no one home when the courier arrives, your order will be left at your address. If this is not appropriate, please advise when you place your order for alternative arrangements to be made.

Q: What happens if my order is damaged in transit?
A: Our freighters have very strict policies on the ability to claim on insurance if your order arrives damaged.  There is a 48 hour window of receipt of goods for ecoMaster being able to advise the freighters of a damage claim.  PLEASE ensure you have advised us IMMEDIATELY if an order has been damaged on arrival.  Open your order immediately and check.  Outside of the 48 hour window, we are unable to make an insurance claim.

Q: What happens if my order gets lost during transit?
A: Occasionally we have had orders go missing. ecoMaster has solid procedures in place and photograph every order that leaves our warehouse.  If a delivery date appears to be beyond expectation, we will raise a query on your behalf.  If your order cannot be found during transit, we will send a replacement.

Q: What happens if my order is stolen after delivery?
A: If your order is stolen from your home after delivery, please raise a Police report.

Q: How do I make my freight costs cheaper?
A: We hear you!  Oversized items are expensive to transport.  Any item over 1.5m long carries an additional $10 charge by the courier.

Potential cost effective freight alternatives are:

  • Share the costs of freight with a neighbour
  • Buy all your long items (such as Draught Dodgers) in one order (a second tube going to the same address is free)
  • Collect your order from Preston Victoria

If you live regionally or in a rural location, freight costs will be high.  Do you have an address in a town where your order can be safely delivered?   We also live regionally and understand the frustration with the high costs of freight!!

Warranty

Q: What is the product warranty for ecoGlaze?
A: DIY ecoGlaze carries a product warranty of 7 years, but can be highly effective for much longer than that.  We developed and has been installing ecoGlaze since 2010 and have had very few quality issues during that time.

Q: What is the installation warranty for Goodbye Heating Vents?
A: As ecoGlaze is a DIY product there is no warranty on installation.

Q: What else do I need to know about DIY ecoGlaze?
A: These simple points will keep your ecoGlaze in good condition for years.

  • Go to www.ecoGlaze.com.au and invest your time learning about the system before you start.
  • To get the best value for your investment, please, PLEASE watch ALL the installation videos before you proceed.
  • Cleaning your window frames is critical - they need to be really clean.  You don't want your magnet adhering to dust and dirt instead of your window frame.

If you have any questions, contact the ecoMaster team.  We are all ex-installers and have done this work thousands of times before.  We are here to help you.

Q: What do I do if I have a problem with this product?
A: Refer to our Returns / Refunds page [Learn More].  Our Research and Development team will be keenly interested to learn of any product failure and will want images and samples of the product (if possible) so they can determine what the cause of failure was.
