Instructions: (EMV for Aluminium Windows)
- There are slightly different steps between Awning, and Sliding Windows, make sure to follow the correct steps for your window application.
- To ensure that the EMV will fit, fold the EMV down the centre to make a “v” shape, and stick the folded EMV in the gap. If it does not fit the gap is too small to use EMV.
- Be sure to take your time, the paper lining is thin and can tear easily.
- No need to remove the old seals from the windows.

Q: I have sticky residue on my window from a previous attempt to draught proof, how do I get it off?
A: The best way we've found for removing residue is with methylated spirits and a cloth. Use plenty of the methylated spirits on the cloth and gently rub away the residue. Once the residue has been loosened from the surface you will find it rolls in balls that are easily wiped away.
Alternatively, if you have a very stable substrate to work with (not varnished timber), you can use turpentine instead of the methylated spirits. This is not advised if you are unsure as to what finish you currently have on your door jamb.

A: EMV can be used for many applications. To find out if EMV will work for your needs, call us on 1300 326 627, or email us at sales@ecomaster.com.au
Q: Can I paint it to match?
A: A water based paint can be used to paint the EMV. However, when the EMV is painted it will lose some of its flexibility. We do not recommend painting the EMV
Q: What do I do if I install the EMV seal and feel no difference?

Q: What is the product warranty for EMV?
A: The EMV Slim Line Seal has a product warranty of 2 years, but can be effective for much longer than that.
Q: What is the installation warranty for EMV?
A: As EMV is a DIY product there is no warranty on installation.
However, in order to get the best value from your EMV investment, here are a few tips that will help:
- Thoroughly clean the surface that your EMV seal is to be adhered to. In situations where EMV has 'failed', this is 95% of the reason. The other reason is the type of paint on the door jamb. Very oily paints make longer term adhesion quite challenging. (use Draught Dodgers for doors and fix them with brads instead)
- EMV is less happy on a fully exposed door that gets full weather - sun and rain. To be fair, your door will also be less happy too!
To get the best value for your investment, please, PLEASE watch the installation videos before you proceed.

Q: What do I do if I have a problem with this product?
A: Refer to our Returns / Refunds page [Learn More]. Our Research and Development team will be keenly interested to learn of any product failure and will want images and samples the product (if possible), so they can determine what the cause of failure was.
I recently installed an EMV to seal the (old) front door which sported various width gaps and allowed much cold air into the entry area of my home. One could feel the cold air flowing in and settling in this area, especially on windy days/nights. I was pleasantly surprised to find that The EMV adjusted to the variations of gaps resulting in the air in this area of my home to now be ambient, with no temperature variations in respect to its surroundings.
I will add that together with the previous installation a few days earlier of an automatic weather shield (RP3) to the bottom of said front door, cold air entering via the front door has definitely been blocked.
Oh, yes, and it was easy to do the job myself with the help of the clear instructions contained in the ecoMaster installation video. The hardest part of this enterprise was ensuring every bit of dirt on the frame was removed. That took some time but all was worth it in the end.
