Took me a while to install them. Really struggled to push the seal into the moulding - ended up using a piece of wood to help.
Also if painting the strips then you need to run filler along the gap between strip and frame because the gap due to the self adhesive pad is too wide to be bridged by paint. Otherwise seem OK.
Hi Stuart,
Thanks so much for your feedback, Stuart. We really appreciate the time and effort you put into the installation.
Painting Draught Dodgers is usually easiest before installation, though your method of using filler is a clever workaround.
We’re also adding a video to the “How to Install” tab that shows a handy trick for fitting the seal when it feels a bit tight - hopefully this will make it easier for others too.
Product delivered to the depot as arranged.
The product is good but installation instructions a bit deficient, which is being remedied.
Hi Michael,
Thanks for your feedback! Great to hear the RP1 Fluffy Roller Door Seal got to the depot as planned and that you’re happy with the product.
We really appreciate your note about the instructions. We’re always looking to improve, so if you’re happy to share what you found unclear or missing, we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks again for taking the time to let us know.
I think the idea of Renshade is great. Something that reflects the sun's heat and doesn't create a mess when you want to remove it. I have it on three windows now and it helps somewhat with reducing the heat but it would be more useful on the outside to stop the heat from reaching the glass. I've got two windows with Renshade on the inside as advertised but I placed one on the outside to see what happens. The window doesn't get hot when the Renshade is on the outside but it does get hot when the Renshade is on the inside. It rained today and so far the Renshade has held up. It's a good product but it would be excellent if it were waterproof.
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience and for experimenting with Renshade on different windows Yasmin.
You’re spot on that stopping the sun before it reaches the glass is the gold standard for summer heat control. Renshade, however, is purposely designed as an indoor, renter-friendly, cost-effective solution for when exterior shading isn’t possible. It isn’t waterproof for outdoor use, so weather exposure (especially rain) will degrade the material over time. For that reason, we don’t recommend—or warrant—installations on the outside of the window.
