Q: Can I collect my order?
A: Yes you can!  A “Ready for Pickup” email will be sent to you when you order is ready to be collected.  Please click this link for the Click and Collect details.  Note:  this Collection Centre is in Preston Victoria, NOT Prestons in NSW. 

Q: Why is the Standard Courier option so expensive?
A: This is a bulky product, and this affects freight costs. We know it’s boring, and we are always working to find the best and most cost-effective way to ship your order to you.

Q: Why can’t I select Australia Post for this product?
A: Unfortunately, this is a bulky product and it exceeds the size limit accepted by Australia Post.

Q: When will my order be despatched?
A: Generally, your order will be despatched within 2 to 3 business days.    

Q: Will my order be tracked?
A: Yes!  When your order is consigned, you will receive a tracking number that will show you where your order is and its expected delivery date.  Track your order here

Q: When will my order be delivered?
A: Your order will be delivered by a specialist courier that specifically handles oversized items that cannot be delivered via Australia Post. 
Please note that this is a specialist courier NOT an express courier. Our experience with specialist couriers varies depending upon the delivery location.  Clearly delivery times will fluctuate at peak shipping times such as Christmas, end of financial year and the pinnacle of winter bleakness!

Q: Authority to leave?
A: The standard courier delivery option is "Authorised to Leave". That means that if there is no one home when the courier arrives, your order will be left at your address. If this is not appropriate, please advise when you place your order for alternative arrangements to be made.

Q: What happens if my order is damaged in transit?
A: Our freighters have very strict policies on the ability to claim on insurance if your order arrives damaged.  There is a 48 hour window of receipt of goods for ecoMaster being able to advise the freighters of a damage claim.  PLEASE ensure you have advised us IMMEDIATELY if an order has been damaged on arrival.  Open your order immediately and check.  Outside of the 48 hour window, we are unable to make an insurance claim. 

Q: What happens if my order gets lost during transit?
A: Occasionally we have had orders go missing. ecoMaster has solid procedures in place and photograph every order that leaves our warehouse.  If a delivery date appears to be beyond expectation, we will raise a query on your behalf.  If your order cannot be found during transit, we will send a replacement.  

Q: What happens if my order is stolen after delivery?
A: If your order is stolen from your home after delivery, please raise a Police report. 

Q: How do I make my freight costs cheaper? 
A: We hear you!  Oversized items are expensive to transport.  Any item over 1.5m long carries an additional $10 charge by the courier.   

Potential cost effective freight alternatives are:

• Share the costs of freight with a neighbour
• Buy all your long items (such as Draught Dodgers) in one order (a second tube going to the same address is free)
• Collect your order from Preston Victoria 

If you live regionally or in a rural location, freight costs will be high.  Do you have an address in a town where your order can be safely delivered?   We also live regionally and understand the frustration with the high costs of freight!!

Q: How does the draught dodger work? Will I still be able to open and close my windows after this is installed?
A: Yes, you will still be able to open and close your window. Draught Dodgers work by adding brush seals onto the bottom and sides of the lower sash of your double hung windows to provide an effective seal to block unwanted draughts.

There is also a center “V” seal (EMV) that stops the draught at the join between the upper and lower sashes.

Q: I installed this myself, and the window won’t open properly, what should I do?
A: Assuming that the window was able to open properly before the installation, the most likely cause is that the EMV seal is catching on the window latch. When this happens, the back of the EMV can hook into the latch keeper mounted on the upper sash. If this is the case, use scissors or a craft knife and cut a “V” into the back edge of the EMV at the latch keeper. The product will still function properly when doing this. Please be sure to watch the installation video carefully as it shows how to cut the notch before installing the EMV.

Q: If the upper sash of my window opens, how do I draught proof it?
A: In most cases, the upper sash is painted shut. If your upper sash still functions, draught proofing it will require another Draught Dodgers For Double-Hung windows, which can be fitted upside down on the outside of the frame. If the outside of the window is in full weather, it’s a good idea to mechanically fix the Draught Dodgers.  For timber Draught Dodgers, use small brads to nail them onto the frame. If you have the all-weather aluminum Draught Dodgers for Double-Hung Windows then fix with small screws.

Q: After it is installed, is it permanent?
A: It is a permanent solution that will eliminate unwanted most of the air leakage when installed correctly according to the instructions. Be sure to follow the instructions on cleaning and pressing out to ensure good adhesion.

Q: What happens if I put it on the wrong way round?
A: You will need to take it off and buy a replacement Draught Dodgers kit. Be sure to watch the instructional video on the website to avoid this mistake.

Q: What do I do if I install the product and feel no difference?
A: If you have installed the product and do not feel a difference, there are two possible reasons.

• You may not have installed the product correctly according to the instructions.
• There may be more significant draughts in your home. You would have to find out where they are and decide how to treat them. The best way to do this is to subscribe to our Find and Fix My Draughts course.  This will guide you through your whole home to identify and then how to treat the draughts.
• Alternatively, you may want professional help to identify ways to make your home more efficient. Here are some home assessors who may be able to help you.

Q: If it keeps in warm air in winter, will my home overheat in summer?
A: Draught Dodgers are designed to eliminate uncontrolled ventilation. By draught proofing, every opening is gently and effectively sealed off to keep unwanted air leakage at bay, prevent the outdoor temperature from affecting your indoor comfort, and minimize the need for additional heating and cooling. Draught proofing will prevent the hot summer winds entering your home. When combined with other energy efficiency measures, your home can be a cool haven in summer without excessive dependence on air conditioning.

Q: How do I know if it fits perfectly in place?
A: To install the product in the perfect place, use the installer packer in the kit which ensures that the brush applies the correct amount of pressure against the sash.

Q: How long will it take for me to install this product?
A: The first time you install this product is going to take the longest, but if you have multiple window this time will get quicker.

It takes an experienced installer about 35 minutes per window, so expect to take about 1 hour the first time you install the product.

Q: Can I collect Draught Dodgers?
A: Yes, you can collect your order from our Preston Collection point.  Opening days and hour restrictions apply.

Q: I want to paint my draught dodgers. What should I watch out for?
A: Draught dodgers can easily be painted either before fitting or after fitting.  Please note that only the timber part of the Draught Dodgers should be painted.  Do not attempt to paint the seals.
